When chatting to Siayanda “Sia” Buthelezi, Founder and Director of The 6ONE3company, it was clear to see how he has lived up to his organisation’s tagline of “Be identified”. In Sia’s words, “Be identified” refers to being the best for his family, the organisations he services and all who depend on him and The 6 ONE 3 Company for their livelihood. Founded by Sia in August 2014, The 6 ONE 3 Company offers the following services; graphic design, corporate branding , signage, as well as web development to its clients. A business which began initially servicing VW Soweto, The 6 ONE 3 Company has grown into a thriving organisation, with a staff complement of 4 individuals.
While employed as a Programme Manager for Momentum, Sia recognised the feelings of frustration which he recognized as a desire for “more”. In exploring what that desire for “more” was, he discovered his love for creative CAPTURING POSITIVE MEMORIES - THE 6 ONE 3 COMPANY arts, leading him to the service area of graphic design, etc. Sia conducted plenty of research to counter challenges he had faced, and ensured a consistent work ethic in order to thrive and succeed.
As a Siyakhula beneficiary, he is grateful for the assistance given by Siyakhula, which included a Covid19 salary relief package for 6 months. In the long term, Sia hopes to be the preferred branding partner throughout South Africa (SA), thus increasing employed staff and contributing to the alleviation of unemployment in the country. Sia’s inspirations are his children and life in general. His mantra is “we are always given the opportunity to do better, be better”.
Sia’s words of wisdom are that “A journey isn’t about money, but rather about your personal growth”. The quicker we are able to adapt and grow, the sooner we reach our goals. He expressed that what is of paramount importance is our character, maturing as we tackle setbacks, and adversity, using all these gained experiences to propel us to greater heights by learning from them.
Passionate about helping others, The 6 ONE 3 Company’s had extended its philanthropic activities to sponsoring township schools with photographic skills and services. The 6 ONE 3 Company has not been immune to the effects of the pandemic, and as such the photographic services were impacted. But, as the saying goes, “This too shall pass”, allowing Sia to once again do what he loves.
