Thabo Makama, co-founder of Talent Centric started his journey freelancing while still working in Corporate. His field being in talent and transformation, his strength lies in finding solutions for problems, whether it be in business or with people. Thabo strongly opines that entrepreneurs and employees need to harness their talent in order to grow and become prosperous in what they do. Talent Centric focus their attention on understanding what people envision for their companies and then formulate a transformation strategy and advise them on how to implement it correctly, in a manner that will have maximum impact in the company. Talent Centric is all about acceleration and incubation by helping organise ideas action.

In receiving Barloworld Siyakhula as a client, their assignment was to establish technological services for companies and with Thabo’s latest qualifications obtained at Stanford, as a certified programme instructor, he is in an even better position to help these enterprises. Thabo aims to leave these Siyakhula beneficiaries with the proper tools to grow following his assessment and implementation of a transformation strategy. He states that in many cases by changing just a few things, a positive impact can he realised immediately. Sadly, many business owners lack confidence in certain business skills, which are the areas Thabo tends to focus.

Thabo states that every company is unique and every owner is unique, which is why it is important to recognise your strengths and run with them and acknowledge your weaknesses, as the human element in any company is the backbone of its success of failure. Thabo’s job is to make sure that business owners are equipped to run their companies efficiently. Thabo is a strong believer in creating partnerships and empowering change agents with skills that can create a working formula for success.

Thabo’s team, composed of Wendy Makama, Shaun Makhaye, Lesego Mashishi and Lufefe Velembo are all deeply involved in youth empowerment and job creation. They host hackathons like boot camp programmes and also learnership programmes where unemployed youth graduates enrol for a fully funded learnership and thereafter receive a National Certificate in Information Technology. Talent Centric is also extremely passionate about assisting those with disabilities in the workplace and lot of their work centres around developing entrepreneurs living with disabilities.
