Every day counts - Sinonkosi Autoglass

December 2021
EDITION #2

After power couple Sicelo and Nokuthula “Thuli” Nkosi lost their jobs in the automotive industry in 2015, they founded Sinonkosi Autoglass. Thuli, an administrator, and Sicelo, a technician, started with nothing but a car and a name. Toyota and VW Soweto were their saving grace.

Although Sinonkosi’s base is in Soweto, it is fully mobile and works wherever its services are required. The business also assesses windscreen damage and provides clients with the most suitable and cost-effective options for repairs. Thuli says she does not have tertiary education but has the smarts and the business management workshops Siyakhula has provided have stood her in good stead. Thuli has developed into a firecracker of a businesswoman who runs the office and keeps an eye on the money, while Sicelo has taken full lead of the technical side. The motivation behind this duo is the will to never fail and to make a positive change every day.

With this mentality, and Siyakhula by their side and their relentless drive, the Nkosis’ goal of expanding to three more branches, incorporating tinting (for smash and grab incidents) and opening an education facility to teach the youth, is within reach. Empowering the youth and “giving back” is the best and only way the couple knows to express its gratitude to the Creator for the blessings received.

Thuli says one should never forget where they come from and always be ready to help with humility. Youth empowerment and job creation are serious topics on the lips of this dynamic duo. While there is a definite need for marketing strategies, Sinonkosi is continuing to rise and will soon play with the top dogs in no time.
